Curriculum Vitae : Michael E. Langton

Michael E. Langton was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. After serving a four-year apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Michael became a journeyman wireman. During this time he became involved in union affairs, serving in various offices, which included negotiating committees.

Having been awarded one of five annual national scholarships from the Union, Mr. Langton attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Services. This was followed by a Juris Doctor degree from the UCLA School of Law.

Mr. Langton has lived in the Reno/Sparks area since 1978. He specializes in labor and employment law, and has been a member of NTLA since 1983. 'Representing 8 private and 6 public unions, he has litigated age, race and sex discrimination cases, as well as other wrongful termination cases in both federal and state courts. Mr. Langton has appeared before the Nevada Supreme Court over 20 times including once when three members of the Russian Supreme Court were invited to observe the American Justice System in Action.
